It is sometimes quite sad and heart-wrenching to watch and hear horrible stories of what is happening in the Church these days.
With so many fake miracles, false prophecies, dubious fund-raising methods, worldly methods to attract people to the church, power-tussle activities, terrible interpretation of Scriptures, psycho-tactical measures to keep people loyal, sugar-coated teachings with no spiritual value, and so on. Even the people of the world are shocked at what is happening in the Church.
It is a complete contrast to the time of the early Church when the Apostles would walk the streets and without trying to draw attention to themselves, their shadows would be healing the sick, lay hands on dead people and raise them back to life, be bitten by snakes and nothing would happen, cast out demons with one word!
The Church has certainly lost something tangible – the power of God!
God asked the children of Israel to add some fringe or tassels to the corners of their garments throughout their generations; this tassel must include a blue thread, which has some great significance.
“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
“Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
“And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the LORD, and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
“That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.
“I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: I am the LORD your God.” [Numbers 15:37-41]
The reason for this was for the people to remember, and do all His commandments, and be holy unto the Lord God. Beside this, it was to keep their minds fully focused on the mind of Christ and not on their own hearts.
Moses the Prophet gave more insight into this when he said, “Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.” Man, the dwelling place of God? What has this got to do with tassels in the borders of the garment? A lot!
The purpose of God was further evident in a practical manner when an incident took place while Christ was on Earth.
“And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me? And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.” [Luke 8:40-47]
This woman came to do what she did in the midst of the pushing and pulling of Jesus by the crowd. There were so many people pressing hard on Jesus, they did not make “virtue” to be withdrawn from Him. What was different?
Many people are trying everything possible except lock themselves to Christ for the manifestations of God’s power – praying and fasting for power, acting desperately to possess the power, and various things. But these people will never get it! Why because they are focusing on the WRONG thing – their own empire!
This woman aligned herself with God and withdrew the tangible power He kept in His wings. In fact, the word “touched” there in Greek was haptomai, which also meant “attached”, “cleaved”, “joined”.
In Malachi 4 verse 2, we read: “But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.”
God kept healing in His wings, but the people did not know how to access it. The same is about the full tangible power of God, which is about to be unleashed upon the Earth. You must know how to access this power and demonstrate Christ on Earth.
How can this happen? What must you do?
As mentioned above, Moses declared that Man is God’s dwelling place from the very beginning. When God is able to indwell man like He did with Jesus Christ, we would see exactly the same results as we read in the Gospels and Acts of Apostles.
In the beginning, after God created Adam, He also took the woman out of him and brought her to Adam and declared:
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” [Genesis 2:24]
But that was not all. What about the woman?
“Hearken, O daughter, and consider, and incline thine ear; forget also thine own people, and thy father’s house; So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him. And the daughter of Tyre shall be there with a gift; even the rich among the people shall intreat thy favour. The king’s daughter is all glorious within: her clothing is of wrought gold.” [Psalm 45:10-13]
All these were allegorical to the reality of God’s plan, which is being unfolded in this end time!
Jesus is the last Adam (I Corinthians 15:45) and the Church is the Bride, the “daughter” who must leave her “own people” and her “father’s house” and be joined to the King before her beauty can be desired.
Her “own people” are the corruption that defiles, which can be found in her heart (Matthew 15:19). Those of her “father’s house” are the works of the flesh, which are manifested in her actions (Galatians 5:19-21).
God says, if their eyes are not on the tassels, they would be susceptible to go a whoring in their HEARTS. That is quite significant. The daughter, who is the bride, cannot delight the King for as long as her heart is still with her people and her father’s house.
Until you take a violent action against these “relations” in your life, forget accessing the tangible power of Christ.
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” [Matthew 11:12]
You must fight for what belongs to you. It is your right to show forth the power of God in this generation, you owe it to God and His Creation (Romans 8:19).
You need to be joined with Christ in your soul. Deuteronomy 22:12 tells us, “You shall make tassels on the four corners of the clothing with which you cover yourself.” Why four corners?
Your soul consists of four main parts – the intellect, the emotions, the will and the mind. In these areas, you’re to keep your eyes on Christ. The tassels were not meant for personal adornment like some designer clothing, but something to STIR up their souls through remembrance (2 Peter 3:1).
You want to manifest, demonstrate, display the power of God like Elijah did on Mount Carmel or like Jesus did in the Gospels, even with a “greater than these” miracles?
You must cleave or become completely attached to the Spirit of Christ. You cannot serve two masters and neither can you be a friend of the world and be God’s friend at the same time (James 4:4).
“What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” [1 Corinthians 6:16-17]
The woman was “joined” to the Spirit of God and the tangible power of Christ flowed straight into her life and made her manifest the power of God! After this event, the people learned the secret and in Matthew 14:35-36 we read the account:
“And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.”
I ask again: You want to manifest, demonstrate, display the power of God like Elijah did on Mount Carmel or like Jesus did in the Gospels, even with a “greater than these” miracles?
Become one with the Spirit of Christ!
God wants to display Himself through His people, but the people must first be in agreement with Him, they must first “fall into the ground and die”, they must first renew their mind that what God will do through them is not about them but about Him. Lazarus, the brother of Mary and Martha died for four days and thereafter manifested the power of God and helped many people to believe in Jesus! It is your duty to manifest the power of God to this generation.
For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. [Romans 8:19]
What must you do to be joined with the Spirit of Christ?
#1. Pursue Him – Psalm 42:1-3
#2. Be Joined to Him – Luke 8:3
#3. Stay With Him – Exodus 34:29-30
#4. Please Him – Hebrews 11:9
#5. Learn Obedience – Hebrews 4:6
All these will help you be joined to the Spirit of Christ!
