Preaching against Hell….
Do you know light exposes what lurks in the dark? That is what my ministry is all about. I have often been accused of talking too much about the Devil and his kingdom, exposing his works among men. Well, before I refute that claim, let me say this – if you ask those who have sat under my teachings before or attended any of the meetings in which I have ministered in the past two years, they would laugh at that claim. However, I will say such accusations are part of the wiles of the Devil to prevent him and his kingdom of darkness from exposure.
There are some “such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron” (Psalm 107:10); we are to shine the light of Christ in us into the dark areas of the world so that those who have been held bound by the chains of Satan can be loosed and set free! We must refuse to be kept under a bushel, to be shut up or shut down – Yes, we must lift up the banner of Christ for the world to see!
The testimony of Jesus is the Spirit of prophecy and it is “to give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:79) I bring the Light into darkness!
In these last days we are warned against the falsehood that is prevalent; the presentation of the false Jesus through another Gospel that is being presented to us in various forms. We are being inundated with all kinds of messages from various angles to accept the new Messiah that is about to emerge. How are they presenting this to us?
We are all aware that there are lots of problems around the world; economic, political, religious, medical, social, etc that cuts across every facet of human endeavor.
The whole world is like a boiling pot and there are no signs that things are going to get better. The turmoil is great and the world leaders, whose supreme education has seemingly failed them, are confused. As a means of dealing with the chaos in the world, people are turning to the ones who seem to always have the solution to these problems and it does not matter whether those persons support or practice homosexuality, abortion, deny Christ etc. Just look at the outcome of the last general election in your country for confirmation.
Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?” [Matthew 27:17]
We all know the story, Jesus Christ had been arrested and brought to Pilate and after Pilate had cross-examined Him, he found no fault, “For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy” (Mark 15:10). He wanted to release Him but at the same time please the Jewish leaders who wanted His Blood to be shed. This is the perfect example of a man who wanted to eat his cake and keep it. What did he do? He brought a man of completely different character so as to reveal the sheer contrast of evil and good.
He brought out a man from the prison. His name was Barabbas. He was a thief, a murderer and had been bound in the prison. Does that remind you of another ‘spiritual Barabbas’?
“And there was one named Barabbas, which lay bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.” [Mark 15:7]
“But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.” [Mark 15:11]
Jesus had revealed to us that the Devil (Satan) was a thief and a murderer from the beginning of time. “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.” [John 8:44]
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” [John 10:10]
The Devil steals, kills and destroys. In essence, he is a robber, a murderer and a destroyer! All these attributes should tell us something more significant about this time. Before we go any further, however, let me remind us what he did in the Garden. Satan lied to Eve, stole the Princehood of Adam and brought death to them.
When Jesus Christ appeared in the scene, Satan applied every tactic to destroy Him, from the destruction of babies when He was born (Matthew 2:16) to being “thrust out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong” (Luke 4:29).
Satan stole, killed and he was now seeking the final destruction of humanity through the destruction of Jesus Christ. So, Christ was taken and presented to humanity after he had been thoroughly examined for four days! Jesus the Christ, the Lamb of God, was found to be without blemish (Exodus 12:15, 1 Peter 1:19). At the final hour of examination came the presentation when Pilate asked the crowd: Pilate said unto them, “Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ?” (Matthew 27:17)
Jesus Christ or ….?
“…. And so Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged him, to be crucified.” [Mark 15:15]
The people, persuaded by the religious (church) leaders, rejected Jesus Christ. Pilate released Barabbas to the people. The people made that choice!”
“And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. …. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. …. And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon.” [Revelation 9:2-11]
What are the similarities between Barabbas and Abaddon? They were:
#1. Hurting people through their activities,
#2. Bound and imprisoned because of their destructive nature,
#3. Released from the pit or prison,
#4. Ecumenical agreement about their release from prison.
Abaddon is the spiritual Barabbas with the venom of Hell!”
Before Christ’s death and after His resurrection, He promised to come back soon. But He also warned that there would be an Antichrist that would come before He returns and He told us to be watchful.
We need to open our eyes and know that the last days are very much upon us and the Wicked One is about to be revealed; that man of sin as mentioned by Paul:
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” [2Thessalonians 2:3]
Already, there is an ecumenical movement, which is being sold to the Church by apostates or wolves who were never part of the Church but used to be preachers and pastors in the Body of Christ. They are selling world peace and one brotherhood to the nations. Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, Voodooists, etc are being told that they believe in the SAME God. Every way are being touted to accepted God. That is as heretical as it gets.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” [John 14:6]
No other way but Jesus!”
This is the truth. It is a truth that is either being denied or modified today. There is a Jesus in the Qur’an, who is said to be coming back to preach Islam, and they refer to him as the Imam Mahdi, there is another Jesus of the Hindus called Krishna, the Jews are still awaiting the revelation of the Messiah, Buddhists call him Maitreya and all the other religions have divers names. Brethren, do NOT be deceived, this is the foretold Antichrist!
Let No Man Deceive You
Jesus warned, “Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” [Luke 21:8]
This is a serious matter because what I see these days are men and women who are easily sold on matters of signs, wonders, miracles and prophecies! People have itching ears and are prone to lying wonders.
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” [2 Timothy 3-4:4]
If you love your life more than you love Christ, you are a candidate for this deception. And this article is to warn and steer you from this evil one. “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,” [2 Thessalonians 2:9]
How can you escape being caught in the net of this Wicked Man? The ONLY antidote or safety lies in Jesus Christ’s word:
“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” [Luke 14:26]
There is no other way! It is either Jesus or Barabbas, Christ or Antichrist. If they have not already shown up, your own Pilate and religious leaders will soon present Jesus Christ – a life of suffering, discomfort, pain, helplessness, full of rejection, inconvenience and abandonment – to you. That will be contrasted with that of Barabbas – a life full of comfort, popularity, pleasure, acceptance, ease and all sorts carnal gratifications – to you.
Then you would need to make your choice. Accept and stand with Him in His suffering or choose His opposite, it’s either cold or hot – no lukewarm choice.”
As you may be familiar with the story of Christ, that life is not one of ease or comfort, but one of pain that ultimately leads to death – death of self. Yes, you will need to die to self if you choose Christ’s side.
I must remind you though that behind the veil of suffering and death is the glory of resurrection and eternal life. Don’t permit Satan to destroy Christ in you, which is your hope of glory.
“But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.” [Luke 16:25]
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.” [Proverbs 24:1]
Sad but true to say, the vast majority of those enjoying the goods of this world are evil men, for it has been delivered to them by the prince of this world (Luke 4:6).
Does this mean you will live a life of penury and poverty like ol’ Lazarus did? While I cannot guarantee your life of untold riches, I can guarantee something bigger and greater, He will NEVER leave you alone – Himself shall be your inheritance!
Lazarus’ poverty or suffering was not forever, it was for a short – very short period. Paul the apostle calls it ‘light affliction’.
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;” (2 Corinthians 4:17).
“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” [Hebrews 13:5]
The crowd picked Barabbas over Jesus on that Day in Jerusalem, sadly enough so many more are still making the same choice today, even Church-goers….. What Is Your Choice?
